ECI (Early Contractor Involvement)
Early
Contractor
Involvement
is
the
foundation
of
successful
project
delivery.
When
approached
properly,
it
creates
the
opportunity
to
understand
risk,
test
assumptions
and
align
design
with
construction.
When
treated
as
a
formality,
it
can
give
both
clients
and
contractors
a
false
sense
of
confidence
in
programme,
cost
and
deliverability.
Effective
ECI
requires
more
than
early
engagement.
It
requires
engineers
who
understand
how
projects
fail,
who
can
recognise
early
warning
signs,
and
who
are
prepared
to
challenge
assumptions
before
they
become
embedded
in
the
design.
If
complexity
is
left
unresolved
until
construction,
the
opportunity
to
influence
time,
cost
and
risk
is
significantly
reduced.
At
that
stage,
poor
decisions
can
become
fixed,
changes
become
expensive,
and
the
consequences
are
often
difficult
to
recover.
CRAIK
focuses
on
identifying
and
resolving
these
issues
at
the
earliest
possible
stage.
By
testing
constructability,
sequencing,
interfaces
and
underlying
assumptions,
we
help
clients
and
contractors
make
informed
decisions
that
stand
up
during
delivery,
not
just
at
preconstruction
stage
